How it Works

Please read the following carefully before registering at the bottom of this page

Melbourne Data Science Week 2017 is composed of:

  • Tutorials (Mon-Thu 9am-5pm @ KPMG)
  • Opening 2 Talks, Drinks and Finger Food (Thu from 5:15pm @ KPMG)
  • Wombat MeDaScIn Conference (Fri from 8am @ nab)

Pricing

  • Conference - Friday only ($330)
  • Conference - Thu & Fri ($400)

There are a limited number of reduced rate tickets available for the Friday conference only:

  • Academic, Start-up, Self-funded ($200)

If you want to do the tutorials:

  • Use the ‘tutorial voucher calculator‘ below to make your choices and generate a Voucher code and Promo code
  • Click the ‘Tutorial’ button at the bottom of this page to take you to the payment page. This will open up in a new browser window
  • Select the ticket type ‘Tutorials’
  • Press ‘Book Now’
  • When entering your information in [Basic Details], paste in the Voucher code. See here for an example
  • In the promotions and gifts option at the cart summary enter the Promotion code to reduce the price to the appropirate value

Note

  • If you can’t attend all 4 days you can ‘buddy up’ with colleagues.
    In the [Basic Details] section of the registration page there is a [SPECIAL REQUESTS] section. Enter in here the names of the people attending each day. See here for an example. If you do ‘buddy up’ and also select the conference, then the person it is booked under is the person attending - all others must book individual conference tickets
  • Each tutorial is limited to a maximum of 30 people. It’s first in best dressed

If you just want to attend the conference:

  • Press the ‘Conference’ button at the bottom of this page to take you to the payment page
  • Select the appropriate ticket type (student/Academic/Corporate)
  • Press ‘Book Now’ and enter your details. If a student or academic then you need to enter your academic email to be eligible for the discounted price.
  • If you do not wish to attend the Thursday session and reception, in the cart summary page, in the ‘Promotions & Gift’ box enter ‘FRIDAY_ONLY‘ to apply the appropriate discount

Do you want to present at the conference?

We want to hear about your data science work and/or research so are running a dedicated session of ‘lightening talks’. If you are interested in presenting in this session then let us know by telling us in the [SPECIAL REQUESTS] section of the registration form and we will be in touch with more information.

Once you have booked

Because there are several events on one ticket, it may not be too obvious from the receipt you receive exactly what you have purchased (it will only have one date, although the events could be over several dates). Do not despair, we will be emailing everyone closer to the time to remind you what you are booked in for. If there any specific queries, please use the email address at the bottom of the tax receipt to contact us.

Cancellation Policy

  • Unforeseen circumstances may arise where particular tutorials may have to be cancelled, replaced or changed day. With the early bird 4 bundle offer we reserve the right for this to happen to one of your tutorials with no refund. If it is 2 or more then a full refund or pro-rata refund will be available. If you purchased after the earlybird offer then a refund will be given for the marginal cost of the tutorials affected.
  • If your own circumstances change and you can no longer make it, then a full refund will be given provided we are notified by the 14th May (2 weeks before)
  • If it is later than this then we will be as accommodating as we can to give a full refund if there is a waiting list. If it is too late to re-sell the places then a 50% refund will be offered
