I am an Associate Professor and Deputy Head at the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics at Monash University. I received my PhD in Econometrics from Monash University in 2007 and have since been a member of the Monash Business and Economic Forecasting Unit. I have served as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Forecasting since 2014 and am on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Travel Research since 2011. I am also a director and the treasurer of the International Institute of Forecasters.
A large body of my research has a strong focus on forecasting. My work has been published in journals such as: Journal of the American Statistical Association, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Applied Econometrics, European Journal of Operational Research and the International Journal of Forecasting. I have co-authored with Professor Rob Hyndman, Forecasting: Principles and Practice (https://www.otexts.org/fpp2/) a free online textbook which has practitioners, undergraduate and MBA students as its target audience. At Monash University I teach “Business Forecasting” for third year undergraduate and postgraduate students using fpp2. This workshop will be based solely on fpp2 so all materials will be freely accessible, prior, during and after the workshop.
