First hackday information

The first hackday will take place on Saturday April 15 at the Telstra Gurrowa Innovation lab. Note that the hackday is not a compulsory part of the datathon, and is only open to those that registered and indicated that they would attend the first hackday on the signup form. Our event is at maximum capacity, so to ensure the comfort and safety of everyone involved, we cannot allow any more attendants. If you got the dataset yesterday, you are free to work on a submission at home.

If you are registered and coming tomorrow:

• The weekend entrance is located on Lonsdale Street. A map can be found here.
• Telstra is generously providing the venue. Please follow our signs, be careful with equipment, clean up after yourself using the bins in the kitchen and note that we are not allowed to use any kitchenware in the kitchen tomorrow. Plastic cups will be provided. Any help cleaning up at the end of the day would be much appreciated.
• Most desks and tables contain power points, but to be sure, bring along a powerboard or double if you have one.
• It is going to be a full house, so if you want the best spot for your team, make sure to arrive early.
• If you are still looking for a team, grab a name sticker upon signing in and make your way to the presentation area at 10 AM to find some teammates.
• There will be tutorials throughout the day. The full schedule can be found here.
• If you did not attend the launch event yesterday, follow the signs to the data station to grab the full dataset. Don’t forget your laptop.
